A question. Why have you made your Facebook group one which you have to apply to join. Most such groups just allow people to join without having to ask for permission. Seems a bit odd.

    You know…you are right sir.

The only thing I can say is it must be “New to Facebook syndrome.” If you check the group again I have opened it up.

The podcast was a really interesting take on Spartacus. It is true that every age will interpret events through the filter of their own culture, politics or ideology and your discussion on that area was refreshing. Please keep challenging any preconceved ideas we have of Rome – we may agree or disagree with interpretations but these challenges are part of what makes history such a joy!

P.s. I shall enjoy reading up on some of the American slave revolts – I had heard of very few of the revolts mentioned.

    Angela B.
Thanks for writing. One of the things I enjoy about history is that everytime I think I know it all…history keeps on surprizing me. What really worries me sometimes is ‘What is unwritten.’

    Hello Rob,

I really enjoyed your latest podcast about Spartacus. I hated for it to end. Keep up the great work!

This was an excellent episode, thanks. Have you read Barry Strauss’s book about the Spartacus war? You might want to mark on your calendar that the Roman History Reading Group will be discussing it in November.
